On a murky, gloomy February day it was good to be in the lively surroundings of our monthly meeting. Judith welcomed everyone and outlined some of the possible outings in the offing ("Ladies who Lunch', Saturday trips and a walk at Pakefield for a start) . Our speakers were two very accomplished (costumed) musicians who talked to us about the life and times of Tudor minstrels.and demonstrated a wide variety of (reproduction) period instruments, ranging from the cornetto !), via recorders of every size and shape to the crumhorn. Their expertise on such a wide range of instruments was very impressive. They included a number of fascinating 'factoids' - for example the origins of the saying 'a nine days wonder' which started with Will Kemp's nine day dance from London to Norwich.
